ORIGINAL SANDSTOCK BRICKS

Original Sandstock Bricks are also known as convict made bricks. They can be over 200 years old, and are quite rare and hard to find. They have striking colours, and can range from sandy colouring in the brick up to dark speckled browns. Sandstock bricks being the rarest bricks in Australia, there is even a rarer version of the sandstock brick with animal prints indented into the brick at the time they were made. Sandstock bricks can be found in heritage built homes and are fast becoming scarce in the recycled brick industry for the fact that the homes containing these bricks are becoming heritage listed, reducing the supply in the industry.
